Yeah, these types of stories tend to be very heavy on AIs as tools to do or be what people who think like this want, Michael. I see the process as incremental and accelerating. I think AI is doing this with social media already. One activity is not positive - yesterday I got a "thanks for signing up!" email from a website. All I'd done was visit the website, not sign up for any email. A tracking cookie, from another website I am signed up for - as a journalist. I didn't want anything from Website/Org 2 - and it really ticked me off. If this happens enough times, people are going to get enraged and turn it all off.
