Wow - I had no idea about the ESRD program and I just completed business development work for a current business that's developing a product to help current ESRD patients! Of course there is no relationship between Nixon's time and Republicans of that time period and today. But there is another party which equally offers nothing but empty platitudes and zero action - I just saw the comment from another reader where she said her Democrat father gave Nixon credit for bringing a positive end to the Postal Workers' strike, at that time - something else I didn't know about. Bottom line, all the facts I did see showed that not just Nixon, but the qualified people in his first Administration (who were also bipartisan), achieved goals that benefited the general population and overall wellbeing. I do not see that officially today - but I will say as a Hurricane Ian survivor, the ONLY help we received so far is $700 from FEMA so FEMA has outstripped the private insurance companies ... not by much, but at least a little. I don't work extensively with the government but I've experienced a lot of current employees and contractors wanting to just get out - the morale is so low and people are so dismayed at the dysfunction. Both "political parties" - I think it's time for completely new everything, the dysfunction is so bad.
