Looks like bestselling author Joyce Carol Oates has made another massive cultural hit by echoing James Patterson, the multi-million-dollar one-man publishing and media corporation, in telling the world that young white male authors are oppressed and can’t get work.

Who “liked” this? She is being dragged via Twitter by authors of color and anyone else with common sense.

There’s actually a report on Oates’ opinion piece about how sad it is out there for young white guys trying to write (tHE GReAt aMErIcAn NoVeL) that sincerely says,

Oates is bigtime #BlueMAGA. And what she said? This is exactly what they think and ought to be no surprise to anyone. Oates is in no way “progressive.” She and her friends did not loathe Trump for any real reasons for which he should be reviled.

They loathed him because he impinged on their fine sensibilities. They loathe him like people used to hate baseball manager Billy Martin or obnoxious announcer Howard Cosell. Trump is tacky, crude, and plays to the crowd.
