When The Feral Pigs Are Better Than Politicians

Hurricane Ian’s political aftermath is terrible — surprise!

About 250 parrots have been rescued from a parrot sanctuary on Pine Island. One of my neighbors made a home on her deck for a baby feral pig who’d been separated from her mother during Hurricane Ian.

People were afraid of the video of a shark swimming in the streets of Fort Myers, but I could tell the shark didn’t want to eat people. It was terrified, swept in from their home in the Gulf, unable to find their way back.

I’m about done with politics personally, but these vulnerable animals and the humans caring for them renew my faith in regular humanity.

At the same time as their sub-animal counterparts have cemented my opinion of them: unworthy of my support or respect.

You would think that in a state-spanning catastrophe with damage that can easily exceed $1 trillion, trying to up the death toll figures to screw with a politician you supposedly “oppose” politically would be considered a poor idea.

Not for the #BlueMAGA opponents of Florida’s much-maligned governor Ron DeSantis.

The U.S. duopoly has cost us all a lot.
