When Judgments Are Delivered By Satanists
Is it possible that Jason Budrow has administered more justice than California’s actual justice system?
According to a 2021 NPR broadcast, “The majority of true crime is created by white women, consumed by white women, and about white, female victims.”
This is only one of several references I’ve seen which state that the true crime genre is focused on white women, written or produced by white women, or marketed to white women.
John Douglas, retired FBI profiler, is widely regarded as having launched the profession of serial killer profiling. Mr. Douglas is white. He’s a man. The most famous “cold case” television show is Unsolved Mysteries, originally hosted by Robert Stack, currently hosted by John Walsh. Both of these are … yeah. Men.
Many of these statements about true crime being concerned only with white women, came out around the time of Gabby Petito’s disappearance and murder. The national media’s obsession with Gabby Petito’s disappearance was certainly driven by her conventional white girl prettiness and tiny, vulnerable-appearing frame. Any family member of a woman who’d disappeared and been murdered with a case that didn’t get the Petito level of attention would be completely justified in outrage and dismay.
