What you are writing about, is what I faced when looking for examples of heroines who were real, not superheroes with bolt-on breasts. The MCU started out as simple stories for young boys, giving them a simple idea of heroism and good vs. evil. You could do DC as well. It's the territory. You're totally right that the rich think this is what the average member of the public likes and wants, and it fulfills their every entertainment need. And, keeps them thinking in unrealistic, weird ways about heroism and excitement. Instead of living good lives, with many friends, a happy family, and creativity.
