What a fascinating article, Benjamin! LA is my city and it's very much how you describe ancient Rome. Homelessness was bad there when I worked for a large charity that was supposed to be assisting homeless families (and we had built over 500 units of affordable housing - less than half is now available - the rest converted to "Fair Market" much before they were supposed to be). Great minds think alike - I agree that spiritual and mental health starts with physical health, just as you say.
