Well Rexy the top NYT bestsellers are all women right now, the absolute opposite of what it was just ten years ago. But I don't want to write what they write and will never do so. Thanks for spending the time. 41% female is NOT parity, by the way.

Today is mirror day. I’m dismayed that you would go out of your way to attempt to a) “prove” to me that there is no gender or any other bias in the underlying tech of this private corporation’s platform, anticipated or supposed to be a “long form Twitter”; b) logging in via VPN or whatever you did, and auditing what you see on the front page would consist of “proof” of your contention that I must, in turn, “prove” what I believe to you.

I was writing about myself, Mr. Kerr. My own experiences. Should your opinion be that I am not deserving of any type of recognition, and in fact, must “prove” to you that I am wrong? This is what I see from you.

I’ve worked a lifetime to find my own words. That is what I am writing about. This article I wrote, is part of a series. I see very disturbing trends, even more hardening in the fiction world, that indicate everything has become even more directed by what a small group of readers prefers, and these readers — do not even “know” what they prefer. They consume what is provided to them, in ever-shrinking detailed categories.

This isn’t what an artist does. It’s not what a good writer is supposed to do. Our job is not analyzing algorithms written by people who do not create written work. I’m not saying that somebody who writes a sophisticated program isn’t creating something. I’m saying what I think — that our world is indeed changing but there are a lot of lagging indicators.

Again, I’m so surprised and I do truly not understand why you and others similar to you, are the way you are. Do you not have a life? Isn’t there something you would like to do with a friend, or possibly outdoors?

Why would you go to someone’s work, who has had such profound and lifelong harms for working in this area, and do this? I’d like to know if there is a reason or if it’s just general purpose you wanting to tell yourself you are so much smarter, more intelligent and better than a dumb woman.
