Was Jesus Christ a Socialist?

A concept that drives right-wing Christian Nationalists insane

I inadvertently stumbled upon a concept guaranteed to enrage, incite, and derange right-wing people when I forwarded a meme via social media that I’ve seen before.

These people have something in common with the folks who get angry when someone puts an image like the reconstruction of Christ made by a forensic scientist in the early 2000s:

2001 forensic reconstruction of Galilean man by Richard Neave (not necessarily “Jesus”)

So, yeah — some people can’t stand anybody even mentioning Jesus Christ “was a socialist.”

Socialism to them? “Taking” from one person and “giving” to another — a process they object to because they don’t get to personally, in detail, decide.

Most of the people with this thought process are middle and upper-middle class “white” American men and a few of the women who support them.

There are entire books and websites devoted to “debunking” the claim that Jesus Christ was a socialist.
