Wanda, actually I was thinking about what you were saying. I do hear that you are saying (and it seems, Whoopi is also saying - no offense was meant).

So, to change the topic a little, I work in business development and investment at a fairly high level. Let's take Jewish people who are involved in finance, business and development. Jewish culture and religion teaches tolerance. They are supposed to treat others equally. The reality is very different.

There are MANY Jewish people who could have positively influenced business investment and opportunities for Black Americans over the course of many years, ever since they achieved success in the early to mid-20th century. This never happened.

So, I hear you saying to me that Whoopi meant no harm, and was expressing her beliefs sincerely. And, that she is punished, instead of a dialog being opened, because she is a Black American actress. If another white entertainer said the same thing, it's unlikely anything would have happened to them, much less the extreme controversy and suspension from her show. It wouldn't "open a dialog" because there's probably hundreds of white, non-Jewish performers who have said the same and much worse.

Do I find Whoopi's comments WORSE than those of white supremacists? Not in any way. And I now agree she should not have been punished, and that a dialog should be opened.
