They don’t do business, Jason. I have just now read — after almost 2.5 years of work back and forth a repeated message from a writer associate about two different companies providing print on demand books. I’ve told this person individually as well as through group messages what the process should be and they are repeating the same thing over and over again. I can tell people till I am blue in the face that I’ve run payroll in US and Canada and can compare California payrolls and taxes UNFAVORABLY to even high-tax provinces like BC, Ontario and Quebec. They don’t even get that the provinces are somewhat equivalent to US states and that there is LESS duplication (should I say triplication & quadruplication) in Canada than in US. I just use Health Canada and provincial health plans to “explain” and then tell them how much less virtually any health care related service costs in Canada, whether private-pay/private insurer or provincial health reimbursed.

Drool. Duh. I think I am too old to move north. I wish. I have very much enjoyed and appreciated working with Canadians, who seem more honest, brighter and more fit than many Americans — you are so, so right.
