Well get this binch - I'm a 5th generation native Southern Californian and I love /d my home state for many years. But now it is insanely expensive for any nonrich, insanely overpopulated far beyond the carrying capacity of natural resources, there has been zero infrastructure improvement for the majority of my life (since early 70s), and the entire public school system which used to be the envy of the nation is now the exact opposite. When I started teaching community college in 2000, there were 25% part-time, 75% fulltime teachers - flash forward 20 years, the ratio is the exact opposite. They pay so little that there are homeless teachers living in parking lots up and down the state. Now there are fires threatening the Sequoia forest, and as a former backcountry hiker, I witnessed the "diaper zone" go farther and farther each year - as in "diapers thrown away" in the back country. I have never seen so many homeless in Los Angeles County as there were before we moved. Fires cannot be contained as they encroach upon subdivisions built in regions where there should never have been heavy human habitation. The shells have disappeared from the beaches and only the most selfish, self-entitled, evil rich pigs lord it over what was once a beautiful land of promise, welcoming and supportive and free. To translate this - a single governor can be recalled or another elected. And these wildfires have destroyed entire communities (not that YOU would care - your politics are in charge! Whee!) and continue to do so, each and every year - and then there's earthquakes and the people that take their boats offshore say the water is totally polluted, which is why there are few fish and no shells. They just discovered tens of thousands of barrels of toxic waste dumped off Catalina island.
