They haven’t had enough of other people suffering and dying for their comfort … maybe we should let the old “The children in China are starving” reason go …
I am a member of the Authors Guild, with approximately 20,000 members who earn money from their writing in some manner. In my case, I am a full-time money earner for my family based on my writing, which ranges from this Medium presence along with Substack to nonfiction books, business writing, and yes, some fiction. I am also a consultant for several different defense/national security projects.
Even though I have been a vocal opponent to Israel’s attack on Gaza and have been associated with the founding of several cooperatively-owned organizations and businesses, I am in no way a U.S. security risk. I would never betray my country in any way. My opposition to war, economic and environmental exploitation, and discrimination/racism is rooted in a desire to live in a strong, healthy, happy community, and environment.
I advocate for peace, equity, and human rights because I want our people here in the U.S. to have the free, healthy, happy lives to which they are promised through the U.S. Declaration of Independence: “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
