Sulu’s Politics Have Spoiled Star Trek Episodes For Me
Actor George Takei’s social media persona and hardcore political opinions go too far

Star Trek is such a valuable part of so many our lives. One of my former coworkers and friends was a huge fan of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and its captain, Benjamin Sisko. She was also a former neighbor of George Takei, Sulu from Star Trek’s original series. I’ve written how Nichelle Nichols, the original Uhura, influenced me growing up.
My friend told me what a nice neighbor George Takei was, and spoke highly of him.
As an individual, I am relatively certain that George would be a good neighbor: I hope.
But I can’t be with him any more when he writes doltish, mindless political drivel like this:
It’s worse than mindless. It’s almost like he wants to be “Evil Sulu” from the wicked alternate universe Enterprise. This guy!
