Steve, I didn’t not-respond to you out of disrespect. I was thinking about what you said.
Competition and tribalism do not automatically mean mass destruction and murder of the other, nor do they mean wholesale, rampant use of every imaginable natural resource.
We are in a similar situation right now, I think. I think most people would prefer to live a decent, happy life.
Stopping for a moment, thinking, learning, inventing, dreaming and growing have led our civilization to the point it is currently far-more than war, devastation, massive use of any available resource, waste, cruelty, lying and general … how do they call it? … inhumanity.
To pull one’s hand back from killing one’s neighbor and taking what you see before you that he has, then consuming it as quickly as possible and searching for the next one to kill or destroy then rob, would seem to be the better choice, would it not?
