The Sackler family have a net worth of 13 billion. Their wealth derives from deceptive, aggressive sales tactics pushing deadly, addictive opioids like OxyContin.

The Purdue FREDERICK Company pled guilty. Specific executives including Purdue’s then-CEO, the Chief Medical, and Chief Finance officer took the fall and received personal fines.
The salaries and bonuses for each of these executives totaled millions — The judge justified no jail time and a $5,000 criminal fine with “They had no prior criminal record”.
