OMG Kelley - we had this huge conversation on our female SF/F writer email chain years ago about how hard it was to sell anything that had a female protag over age 25 - but we came up with an idea for Mrs. (???) I can't remember her name now but an interstellar crone who could just do anything. Mrs. Brown? A seemingly meek, mild blue haired older lady who packed a big punch.
