Linda, I had NO idea but Gladys was my grandmother's age, or very close to it. My grandmother also married someone very young, and had my mother - she was granted a divorce similar to the one you describe of Gladys' - fortunately her ex and his family did not return to kidnap my mother and my grandmother did better - she had a mother who was on her own and who was a successful business owner. It is unbelievable what women went through. And now we are going through new/more changes. I felt so relieved to read that Gladys at least was able to live out her years in relative safety, comfort, and peace. How horrible to lose her children so many times, and in so many tragic ways.
