I just had a chat with my husband. Now is the time for me to try to publish Like Fire for real, I said.

He doesn’t know what to do, and after all this time? Neither do I. That’s why I asked him for help. I have no idea how to publish the best book I’ve written, a book that does not contain rape, incest, violent oppression, racism, colonialism, or cruelty to animals. It’s about animal rights in a way. It’s a book that’s about a lot of things people might enjoy. A book with strong, realistic men and women based on real family and friends as opposed to archetypes of the past or thinly-veiled fanfiction.

A book that changed my life. A book that was about something I cared about. Written from my heart.

Aside: when I finished this book I wrote my agent, the same agent that George R.R. Martin has and that Stephen King had for his first 2 dozen books. She replied,

“Not right now dear, I’m negotiating Season 6 for George.”
