I would encourage you to write more for Medium, Mark! Re: MZB, I have a good friend who was very close to her and who has written in her Darkover world extensively. I am more of a sci-fi than a fantasy writer. I was able to, once I broke in, easily publish my work because of how few female actual sci fi writers there ever were. It is unknown how many others tried, and were unable to break through the biases of the group of editors at that time, and today's fragmented, scattered marketplace.
