I think if you look at the basic idea of what communism is - not privileging one individual's ownership of certain property over the survival of others - I am pretty sure Jesus did support that. How is it justifiable to be a Christian and have some of the conditions and situations we have in our own country, not to mention others? I mean, there are people who work 60 hrs a week and cannot afford a decent place to live and nutritious food (I'm not talking lousy fast food). The answer of too many well-off people is "Well, they should have gotten a better education or get a better job." There were homeless college teachers living in the parking lot at the community college where I used to teach. Maybe Jesus wasn't a "communist" but he did NOT support these horrible practices of greed and evil that hurt all of us today.
