I see what you were/are saying. It's so hurtful when others categorize any of us - having never spoken to us, not knowing us or our families. I have heard about Creoles and Melungeons my whole life and went to college with one. People should be respected for their families and culture not put into boxes or heaven forbid - shamed for who they are. My "white" (non-Jewish) family has a long history in North America (Canada and US - Jamestown). I have some drops of blood as well. Does this mean, based on what I read of what you have written, that if Henry Louis Gates would do this biography show and uncover I have a couple of Black ancestors from Virginia and Missouri, that I am also Black? Is that what they say? What of the Jewish heritage I have, does that wipe that out?
