I read and clapped - and I have a mixed sage stick right now (cedar, small amt of sage) that I never planned to and will not burn, it is in a farmed abalone shell that I bought with it - I bought it for the abalone shell because I had one growing up and it reminds me of home. I know this preserve, and the wild plant, the area is where I grew up in So Cal. I did not buy this to burn sage, I bought it because it reminded me of the abalone shells which once were so common and when the woman told me it was from an abalone farm, I thought, "okay." If not sold, it would go to waste, maybe for jewelry. I hope the small amt of sage in this isn't poached sage. Regarding owning our Euro traditions - half of my family is Jewish and all the members who were in Europe during WW2 were killed. I have few traditions from them and do not know them beyond my grandparents. The other side of my family dates back to the 2nd fleet to Jamestown and 1610 in Canada. Some traditions we might not want to continue - I don't want own slaves, kill bison, or destroy others' homes. In our family we are trying to stop the tradition of abuse.
