I just noted on this article that Medium only featured articles by women if they were about bodies, sexuality/relationships and work complaints. So what do I see in my email box but this! https://medium.com/@girlziplocked/why-amazon-isn-t-a-fucking-idiot-and-runs-a-deficit-f9d5734b68ec This is an old-school 20th century exposition — I’m really not sure what prompted it since I haven’t been following election activities — arguing that it’s important for the US to run a deficit, primarily “Just Like Amazon” (the friendly company) and also other much larger tech companies. So it’s not about bodies, sex/relationships or a work complaint. It’s apparently about government finance. And it’s on the mental level of a Facebook forward from your cousin who’s always up to pull the voting lever for whatever letter he or she identifies with. I will provide 3 examples: 1) Google has seldom run a loss and Alphabet “losses” I just reviewed on quarterlies are due to corporate restructuring; 2) Headstart is a total waste of time and money and pays shittier than even shit-pay local preschools and gets horrible results, and its use in such arguments is about as relevant as “Richard Nixon is a crook” and meaningful to the same people; 3) Amazon runs a loss because, a) they get away with it while execs continue to reap stock gains; and b) IF THIS WOMAN HAD EVER RUN ANYTHING which clearly she has not — they declare losses because — it starts with “T” and continues A-X-E-S.
