I hear ya - I feel similar. When I was teaching college I used to hear from my students about young influencers. Just because a certain performer is heavily featured and you see them everywhere doesn't mean they are legitimately popular and people want to copy their look and sound. Sometimes they're just heavily publicized and some of it is all bs and no reality, leading some young people to think they need to have extreme cosmetic surgery and make music that has no relationship to real music, is exclusively electronic and artificial.
