I have been writing about my growing up years in So Cal years ago. It would seem from reading what happened to your son, that things have not changed. For the better. I hope for the best for your son and for you. Considering what has been done to him, a GED and CC is the best right now even though I know you and he both wanted a "normal" high school experience. I taught community college for 20 years. My daughter attended 1 year of CC in Virginia which she paid for herself - he will have a great chance of making friends and having a positive and fulfilling college experience and education. I hope you can make a difference at his school and in this system - which is totally failing as you have described. 2024 & it might as well be 1974.
