I feel similarly but when I was young, I didn’t even have formed thoughts about it. I didn’t question the “rules” though I wanted to date people who were attractive, interesting, and who … like what you said. I married a poor man but he went to work every day and continues to do so and is intelligent, decent, and kind. I was also engaged to the heir to the Conoco-Phillips oil fortune and I broke it off with him because he had a huge drinking problem and I also didn’t want to move to his hometown and become part of his family with no identity of my own. That was the extent of my thought sophistication when I was young.
