I don’t seem to be able to respond to Vlae Kershner but they are correct — this article is a very thin pastiche/cut-and-paste plagiarism from this original article in The Conversation, written by an Australian professor: The Grim Reality of The Brothels of Pompeii. Marguerite Johnson, the actual author and researcher, is a professor at the University of Newcastle in Australia.

I honestly thought I’d seen it all via Medium — from apparently protecting people who are using the service to sell illicit prescription drugs to ignoring anything I write in favor of the constant slurge provided by some of the well-known people you see pushed to your phone each day.

I did write the “support staff” but having been on video calls with them — God only knows why they’d pick this guy with his weird opinions over someone else but basically — it’s a thinly rewritten article picking and choosing the factoids from the original, much richer, more in-depth, and interesting work written by someone who knows what she is writing about.

According to Harlan Ellison and my grandmother, “You’ll go far Amy, because you have heart.” Author of 40 books, former exec., Nebula Award nominee, Poor.
