I am totally shocked at how these filters look, and I don't think they look "good" though I can see how teens (and others) would want to use them 24-7. I think the unsatisfying, overly perfect "unreality" will eventually cause these to fall out of favor - but not before the warnings you've expressed affect some young people negatively. I can't imagine how bad it would have been if this type of tool were available when I was young. That's the flip side. Many of my friends (let's say classmates) would have gone completely insane with something like this. I think greater numbers of young people now can look at this type of technology and realize how fake and misleading about actual appearance it is. Not every young person uses TikTok or wants to use an extreme glamor filter to change their face.
