I am on deadline for work this a.m. Natalie, but I am so glad I read this. Blessings and white light to you and your family. What a beast that man was! Thank you so much for sharing this story of how brave and correct you were with your sister. I was also raised by the older generation and those were their exact values and reactions. I heard many stories from my grandparents of similar aggressive bad actions by these types of people. I know that in your family's situation, this man added racism in addition to his misogyny and self-entitled brutal behavior. But my grandparents were not wealthy and were not aggressive, greedy, entitled people. I remember how sad and upset my grandmother would be when treated this way by wealthy ladies who believed themselves to be above her or "better than" - whatever it is they think they are doing.
