I am not an expert on this in any way but it runs in my family - my dad told me my mother (she died when I was 3 mos old) was anorexic. She was normal weight with what some might describe as "chubby cheeks" just like me in school, but she worked in the entertainment industry and I have a few pictures of her where it is clear, she had reduced to around 100 lbs at 5'4" and my dad felt that her dieting may have contributed to her getting pancreatic cancer which cost her life. I had a raging eating disorder when young and some people consider the way I eat now to be an eating disorder (whole, unprocessed foods, no sugar, minimal whole grains). My brother disclosed to me that when he looks in the mirror, he sees "Frankenstein" and even used that image as a social media picture. He was in a major auto accident in his early 20s and suffered many broken bones, and one of his legs was reconstructed shorter than the other but his injuries do NOT show on the outside. He was a handsome young man and his face is unmarked or scarred externally. He doesn't see himself that way. I look at women who are markedly big and tell myself I look like them to this very day. I ask my husband, "Do I look like her? Do I need to cover up?" These are my fears and terrors and that's why I wrote. I'm so glad you understand - she is in the public eye and shows us another kind of mirror or example. Blessings and white light - every day we can reach out in love and caring Nicky and I am grateful for you doing this with me and your audience.
