I am a working slug millions of x lower than you, no NYMag credits, work 8-10 hrs daily to feed us. That being said, I have published 50 books, I do have an MFA, and I did teach college for 20 years. Just not the books ChatGPT said I wrote, and not the degree I got or schools where I taught. It was also individually wrong about the jobs/degrees of the real authors of the books it said I wrote.

I do write via some of the online services and I see my colleagues there getting really upset about these AI programs. Right now, while I did this, I am revising a report that is sent to thousands of physicians - the one I am revising had a lot of errors. It was done by a human (other than me). Some of the information appears to be ... how do we say? "Made-up." But none of what I am including is. Humans make lots of mistakes, but nothing like these programs. Their "work" should not be used for anything important at present.
