I agree with you on that, Aunty Jean — while he gives examples of people who are better off and own their own businesses, the jobs overall do not pay well, are dangerous, and those who do them are at-risk. I think the people who do the most difficult, dirty, dangerous jobs should be paid most of all, not less. Mike has also argued that minimum wage is a good thing and shouldn’t be raised. I think he sees things from his more privileged perspective. After all, he got his present job because he could talk a mile a minute selling a plain yellow pencil. But there’s no replacement for his TED Talk as far as illustrating these terms of “I thought it was one way … but boy was I wrong!”
