I agree, Sarah. I was going to slap at her because it was such a … well — attacking other women statement. I had a false assumption that ‘things would be better’ for younger women than it was for me. This is so untrue. I can’t believe some of the things I see and hear.

But I can’t resist: yes, older women continue to be sexually harassed. We get to combo that with males and females condescending to us 24–7 about every conceivable stereotype and literally ignoring us in situations where we are present. We get to confront that lots of ‘relationships’ we’ve had weren’t based in anything good and that maybe some of our ‘friends’ and ‘mentors’ were just mild-mannered harassers, in no way colleagues, co-workers, or allies. We get to sit and wonder if all we ever did have to offer was our tits and ass and long blonde hair.

Little has gotten better. I do see some women treating each other somewhat better. It’s good that things are being discussed. It’s good that people are no longer accepting this as a normal part of life and society. It’s good that at least a few miscreants are receiving some nominal punishment.
