Hi Rick - what you experienced was *ageism*. It's no fun either. I happen to look a few years younger than my actual age (61) and have a youthful demeanor so I do not get it much. It's very unpleasant and it feels bad to be treated so poorly, especially where health is concerned.
But I'm serious - if you've never been shopping in a store and had them stare at you bc they want you OUT and suspect you will steal, and never been pulled over by a police office and terrified they might shoot you ... yah, ageism bad, but the other? very bad
Imagine what the doctors would have done had you been an older Black lady. Not nice, that is why many do not even try to see a doctor.
