Hi Kennardo, I have never eaten at that particular restaurant, but Flemings is a chain. It is owned by Bloomin Brands, which also owns Roy's and Carabba's. So my thoughts are, he didn't ask for much money in his lawsuit for such a horrible experience and shocking, almost impossible to understand service. I'm from Southern California - these restaurants are all over So Cal, and So Cal is completely multiracial/multiethnic. Granted, I could never afford to go to the very highest end restaurants, but Flemings and Roys and this brand's other restaurants like Carabbas aren't that. I've eaten at Flemings and Roys in So Cal, but not La Jolla. La Jolla is known for being a wealthier enclave. It's hard to get a table at most restaurants there during popular times. All that said, I am absolutely stunned that any server at this restaurant or any one similar in So Cal would do this. If true, the plaintiff does deserve the award. This article does not identify the race of the server or staff at the restaurant and I have never eaten at one of these restaurants (Flemings, Roys) that did not have a multi-ethnic serving and management staff. So it would also be highly unusual for the area for the wait staff to be all white, and all white supremacists. That's really rare in Southern California, Kennardo and it doesn't exist at restaurants in tourist/vacation locations such as La Jolla. This is something that would be covered in the news in So Cal too. It would definitely freak people out. That restaurant would close because it would be known as the "empty plate" restaurant. I wish the best for this man. What a horrible experience, and senseless.
