Hello Salsam - I experienced the phenomena described in this article in classes that I taught as well. The new twist is generative AI, which students are using because they think it will reduce their workload. I think AI as it stands is a very effective summary tool. Any student who uses it to write an entire paper without fact checking any of it will be in for an unfortunate experience when they turn the "work" in. It was never about plagiarism, it was and is all about learning and engaging and growing.
