Did I tell the story that I actually encountered Milton Friedman's son at a convention when I was still participating with that stuff? He has a PhD in physics and had published a Scandinavian-themed fantasy book. I don't remember any more what its title was or any other details. But I was on this panel with him and 3-4 other authors. An audience member asked about a book called Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond, a UCLA (I think) professor. I had read the book - from the library. So Milton's son, David, started talking about how dumb the book was and how worthless. It sounded strange to me because he was referring to things that I just hadn't read in the book. After a few such comments from him, I asked, "Excuse me, Mr. Friedman, have you read the book?"

He said "No" and the whole audience like 200 people burst out laughing.

A true numbskull with a PhD, famous mega-destructive father.
