David - keep being you and doing what you're doing! I understand the indy published authors are now able to join if they can show a certain pro level volume of sales. Being former Treasurer and looking at the Mercedes Lackey situation? It's terrible - I want nothing to do with it. It was bad in the old days but it seems as though the bullying behavior continues - just in a different direction, conducted by different people. The old guys were just - as awful as you can imagine and then some. The new ones ... well, I think what they did to Mercedes Lackey is wrong. You don't give an award to someone and then immediately rescind it for something like that. They even insulted the other award recipient - it's terrible. So ironic so much wrongdoing went on for so long and instead of providing any type of justice for that, they just turn around and go nuts with "political correctness" as the underlying behaviors continue as they always have. So, hurting female authors over this (Mercedes Lackey and this new situation with Faith Hunter) - but no censure or punishment of any type for the vast numbers of male miscreants - Just absurd.
