Charlotte, as a 5th generation former CA resident, I did consider moving to the low desert. I think you're a little bit deluded if you think the water shortage and climate change will not affect you. I guess 3 wks of 120 degree+ weather this past summer wasn't enough? The desert can't carry 1 million people. This has been known for years.
