Boomers are Riding the Backs of Millennials and Gen Z to Armageddon

My experiences as one of the youngest Boomers are absolutely nothing like older Boomers — and I mean the people who are 70+ now, not even those in my husband’s age range.

When I graduated from college it was the Reagan era. My full four-year scholarship had morphed from my education paid for with a manageable part-time job and scholarships to having to work full-time and complete my double-major degree. And I got served up a little rape from a highly-recognized professor just to make sure my matriculation would be successful (not).

I Was a Creative Writing Major

I may be one of a small number of people who selected “creative writing” as their first and second career choice on their PSAT and SAT survey form. And, I followed through. My Master’s degree ($30K student loans plus cash payment, paid off) is in creative writing and literature.

We frequently hear from conservative types that students should “Go to school and get a degree that’s worth money.” I’m pretty sure my degrees (I also have a studio art BA — I earned these degrees simultaneously, not from two different…
