Aww, you are too kind, Dex! Thank you so much. I'm very happy for the first time in a long time. And I realize and can put my finger on what those factors are: the same ones that every other normal person values. It is a shame about Rowling, but - here is an untold story. I have several unpublished novels. One is a children's (middle grade) book that was at Pub Board at Scholastic for six months. It was ultimately turned aside because they said "it had multiple points of view" (as do the Harry Potter books, published by the same company). It featured themes of animal rights, environmental crisis, young female protagonists, and their relationships with older characters. It was an anti-patriarchy book, theme, story, characters. That's why they turned it aside. They, and I, probably could have made decent money. But if somebody asked me, "Which would you rather be?" 100 out of 100x, exactly where I am right now. I will always be grateful for the peaceful and happy life I have been given, for however long it lasts.
