A very handsome man, who appeared to be a basketball coach and probably an ex-player, had a nice conversation with me in the fruit and vegetable section of the store yesterday. I doubt he would have spoken to me if I weren't in the top 5% of attractiveness and health (probably more than that these days) for my age. I see dudes at the gym too (but do not/would not) "flirt" with them because - I'm happily married to the love of my life! Bruce is 9 years older than me and about to celebrate a milestone birthday. At older ages, our culture tells us we can't be or do many things, but none of these statements are true. We do know a chap here in our area whose wife has "checked out" and this poor man is absolutely miserable. I know that, due to the differences in age, that it's likely - not guaranteed - I will outlive my beloved spouse. And that will be it for me. I have been so fortunate to have found a life partner that I love dearly, who also loves me, and we share amazing days and joyful experiences together. I feel sad reading what you have said. Maybe there is a way for you to revitalize or rekindle your relationship.
