Are All Cops Bastards?

Rich people seem surprised when police don’t immediately retrieve their stolen items.

The San Francisco Chronicle featured a recent story of a reporter who had her car stolen — and what happened next. She and some readers seem shocked that cops didn’t immediately get her car back for her and arrest the perpetrators.

I often see “Blue Lives Matter” signs around where I live. And, I’ve seen the Sheriffs around here too. Let’s just say I’m not as extremely intimidated as I might be by them, having known other Sheriffs elsewhere, other cops elsewhere. Other days, other times.

If you haven’t had your car stolen or your house broken into, you really shouldn’t be commenting one way or another about cops and “Blue Lives Matter”. The cop of today is to my grandfather the Constable during World War II as an astronaut is to the Wright Brothers getting their Flyer off the ground.

Am I saying they are “modern”?

The cops at the Uvalde, Texas school shooting had every bit of modern equipment imaginable. The most powerful weapons, body armor, modern communications technology. And they stood around for over an hour while young children from their own community were being slaughtered.
